Samantha Muir

Samantha is an Associate of the Royal College of Music, London and recipient of the Madeline Walton Guitar Prize.
She is currently doing a PhD on classical ukulele at the University of Surrey, Guildford, UK with Stephen Goss as her principal supervisor. Her compositions and arrangements are published by Schott and Le
s Productions d’Oz. Samantha also specialises in the machete and the rajão, the forerunners of the ukulele, and is a member of the Consortium for Guitar Research at Sidney Sussex College, Cambridge.

New Works for Classical Ukulele
A portfolio of practical and theoretical material that explores the ukulele as a contemporary classical instrument. The portfolio includes compositions (both original and commissioned), arrangements, audio and video, didactic material, performances and presentations, and written work on the musical and social history of the ukulele and its forerunner the machete.
